So I've been down here for almost a month now. Things are going as good as can be expected. Our roommate is closing on his house tomorrow so this weekend is going to be a big move for him. My house is going to be in complete disarray again when he leaves.

My new job is OK. I was loving it at first. But my Creative Director is a total hack and tried to tell me that it is OK to send RGB files to the printer. I don't know what arrangement he has with his printer. Perhaps his printer does prepress for free. I don't know. In any case, I was put off by him going off on me about that. I didn't come down here to get a job so I can be spoken to in that way. I want to get away from that. Also the file system they have is totally disorganized. I find that it takes me more time to find images that I can work with than to actually do the work. I think that they are so set in thier ways that they are unwilling to change the way they work. It's really frustrating. I have a 6 week contract at Aquent and then from there they will decide if they want to hire me. So it all really depends on what happens with that.

I seem to go through my phases with comedy. First, I was all about Tenacious D. Then I got into the Chapelle show. Which I followed up with some Ali G. But now I found the most addictive comedy ever. Drinking with Bob. He's got a show on public access and it is the funniest shit I have ever seen. ZERO budget shit, which is the freakin best. So raw, so funny, and his rants, parody skits, and drinking songs are so bad, they are brilliant. It doesn't get better than this, folks.

I'm thinking about doing a career oriented happy hour. I know Thursday nights are good for most people. All the people that I know and have worked with, let's get together. I just need to pick a good date with the help from you. My idea is to have a networking social. And all that is invited, should be from the advertising field art direction, copywriting, copy editing, production, and graphic design. We all know a lot of people. It's the holidays, it's time to share the wealth with our experiences. Make new connections or renew old ones. We all have busy lives, all I ask for is one night only.

John is going to be here sometime after 3! He got a roundtrip flight for $145 TODAY. I'm so psyched that he'll be here! Crazy, since I just saw him on Tuesday.

Holy shit. I couldn't believe it when I heard it. Faith No More's version of "Easy" playing in the background of a Levi's commercial. Yes, I am a Patton freak.

And now Paul Anka playing a swing version of "Smells like Teen Spirt" on Letterman. What is this world coming to?

Mood: calm

I wasn't sick today, but I called in sick. I chalk this up as a mental health day. A day that I can stay home and sleep. And not do a damn thing. I didn't plan this until I woke up this morning. And it was grey and rainy. After being out in LI this weekend helping clean and move John to a new place, I needed a day for me. I guess I just need some of my own space for once to just relax by myself.

Actually I opened up AIM for the first time in weeks. At leaset I caught up with some peeps there. So I wasn't at least anti-social. And now I'm updating this thing. I actually have time to update this thing?

This weekend is going to be crazy for sure. I'm volunteering for the CMWC with John. John is going to race in the Gold Sprints. I really hope he can make it through the qualifiers. My buddy Tim is going to be in town. I'l like to meet up with him at some point. Thank god I have Thursday and Friday off from work. I'm sick of working, I want to have some fun and get a paycheck at the end of the week.

No Mermaid parade for me this year, and no Siren festival either. Both are designated moving days. Summer moving, yeah! Moving fucking sucks. Cleaning during the move sucks too. Long Island family BBQ's. I'm sucked into those again this year too. At least now I can work a beach trip into it. So far at least the weather feels like summer. Last year the summer went too quick and it was back into the deep freeze all over again. Weather really affects me I've realized.

Sadly, no great summer festivals planned to go to. Ozzfest is the only thing remotely that comes close. And I would have to ask if Tim was going. He's buddies with Shadows Fall and the frenzy crew is always fun to party with.

PS1 warm up lineup has been released. I'd like to check out Josh Wink I think. Pretty old skool so we'll see how that is. Anything else look good? Let me know cause the only other thing I recognize is gus gus.

Wow. I did the Chase Corporate Challenge today. For the first time in my life, I ran consistenly for 3.5 miles and didn't stop to take a break. Granted, I kept a slow pace of a 12 minute mile. My heart rate was pretty up there at 164 the whole time, I was surprised I didn't tank out. If the race was any longer, I probably would of. I completed the race in 37:42, which is a good point to start. Lots of room for improvement. Most importantly is that I survived it. Everyone siad I would and did. Not only that, I think I could of rode my bike home as well. If I only knew, I would of. I can ride my bike to work tomorrow, I can go to the gym and then ride home, no problem. But Mark is going to be out, so hopefully I'll get out in time for Angel's class. If not, I'll catch Yoga. And if I can't do that, it's up to my own training.

Ya know, I was doing do well. Being really productive and all. And now I have the flu. Wonderful. Now I'm absolutely useless. I have a 101 fever and can't move off this couch. I had to leave work early and I have every intention to call in sick again to work tomorrow. I better feel better by Saturday, because feeling shitty really sucks! BAH!

Ladies,

Please don't forget the right we have worked so far to gain on November 2nd. It's a right we earned less than 100 years ago. It's something my great-grandmother could not do.

The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.

If we all did actually vote, we could change history. Swing State or not, it's a matter of principle.

Tonight, when I get home, I'm going to type out a letter of resignation. That's an appropriate way of quitting a job right?

i love getting jobs in at 5:30 that have to be turned around the same day. ane then Kevin doesn't give them rush charges on top of that. pisses me off. the design agency has money. I don't want to hear it how broke they are. it's bullshit. not everyone on this planet is poor!!! just a simple fact that the rich keep on getting richer because the porr man keeps doing favors because they are so desperate for business.

"CBS is refusing to run the winning ad, "Child's Pay," on the Super Bowl. Watch the ad and join the nonpartisan MoveOn.org effort calling on CBS to run public interest advocacy advertising like ours."

Please check out these PSA's on this site. IMO they are all really well done. And Child's Pay is brilliant.
